Scripture

We believe in Scripture, divinely inspired by God and infallible, as the only rule of faith.

1 Timothy 3 v 16(New International Version)

"Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."

The Trinity

We believe in the trinity of the Godhead of Father, Son and Holy Spirit as one God in three persons; each separate but indivisible.

Matthew 28 v 19 (New International Version)

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Jesus Christ

We believe in the birth of Jesus Christ by the virgin Mary, as prophesied in scripture. We believe he was born both as God and as man.

Christ's Death and Resurrection

We believe Christ died for our sins, that he was buried and three days later rose again and that his resurrection was witnessed by his disciples and many others.

1 Corinthians 15 v 14 (New International Version)

"And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith"

Jesus' Ascension

We believe that Jesus ascended into heaven to be with the Father and that one day He will return again.

John 14 v 2-3 (New International Version)

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

1 Thessalonians 4 v 13-18 (New International Version)

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words."

Salvation

We believe in salvation by the Grace of God through Faith and that through repentence and faith in Christ's death on the cross, our sins will be forgiven.

John 14 v 2-3 (New International Version)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast"

Eternal Life

We believe in eternal life for believers as promised by Jesus and as set out in scripture.

John 3 v 16 (New International Version)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Baptism

We believe in the baptism of believers and their children by their acknowledgment of their faith and subsequent promise to raise their children in a Christian way.

Communion

We believe in the act of Communion as set out by Jesus at the last supper and that all believers are welcome to participate in the Communion Service irrespective of age or denomination.

1 Corinthians 11 v 28-32 (New International Version)

"A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world."

Healing

We believe in the healing power of the Spirit and that many are still healed through faith.

Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of marriage and that marriage was created by God and that the only legitimate form of marriage is between one man and one woman.
