Scripture

The Word of God, which is contained in the scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, is the only rule to direct us in matters of faith and conduct.

2 Timothy 3 v 16(New International Version)

"Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory."

The Trinity

There are three persons in the Godhead - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

Matthew 28 v 19 (New International Version)

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit"

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary, as prophesied in scripture. We believe he was born both as God and as man, yet without sin: two distinct natures in one Person.

Christ's Death and Resurrection

Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day and his resurrection was witnessed by his disciples and many others.

1 Corinthians 15 v 14 (New International Version)

"And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith"

Jesus' Ascension and Second Coming

Jesus ascended into heaven to be with the Father and one day He will return again to judge the world.

John 14 v 2-3 (New International Version)

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."

1 Thessalonians 4 v 13-18 (New International Version)

"Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who fall asleep, or to grieve like the rest of men, who have no hope. We believe that Jesus died and rose again and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord's own word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left till the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage each other with these words."

Salvation

Salvation is by the Grace of God through Faith, as freely offered in the gospel. Through repentance and faith in Christ, our sins will be forgiven.

John 14 v 2-3 (New International Version)

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast"

Eternal Life

Whoever believes in Christ will not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3 v 16 (New International Version)

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life"

Baptism

Adults are baptised on profession of their faith. The infant children of believers are baptised on the acknowledgment of their faith by at least one parent, and promising to bring up the child in the Christian faith.

Communion

We observe the sacrament of Communion as set out by Jesus at the last supper. All believers are welcome to participate with us in the Communion Service irrespective of age or denomination.

1 Corinthians 11 v 28-32 (New International Version)

"A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world."

Healing

We believe in the healing power of the Spirit and that many are still healed through faith.

Marriage

We believe in the sanctity of marriage and that marriage was created by God. Marriage was ordained for the mutual help of husband and wife. It is to be between one man and one woman.
